Biography

An alumnus of Carnegie-Mellon University, African-American actor Blair Underwood made his TV bow on The Cosby Show in 1985. He then became a top-billed attraction by virtue of his weekly appearances as energetic attorney Jonathan Rollins on L.A. Law. His interest in the judicial system was stoked by several early unpleasant run-ins with white law enforcement officers who treated him suspiciously solely on the basis of his race. In between Cosby and L.A. Law, Blair Underwood could be seen on the daytime drama One Life to Live. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
