Biography

  Born Hank Albert Azaria in Queens, New York on April 25, 1964, the actor with the familiar face and voice began his career in the movies in the late 1980's.

His first breakout comedy role was as Agador Spartacus, the Guatamalan houseboy in the film version of The Birdcage for which he received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.

More serious roles came later with his critically acclaimed portrayal of TV producer Al Freedman in Quiz Show and opposite Jack Lemmon in the acclaimed made-for-TV movie Tuesdays With Morrie.

The actor is best known, however, for his various parts on the hit animated television show, The Simpsons, providing the voices for Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Moe Szyslak, The Comic Book Guy, Police Chief Clancy Wiggum and Professor Frink, along with his role on Friends as one of Phoebe's boyfriends, David, the Scientist Guy - and as Nat the dogwalker on Mad About You opposite Helen Hunt to whom he was briefly married in 1999-2000.

Azaria is curretly starring in his own Showtime Original Series, Huff, in which he plays a psychiatrist beleagured by his own insane family life.

In 2005 Azaria also appears in a starring role on Broadway in the new musical Monty Python's Spamalot for which he has been nominated as Best Actor in a Musical at the annual Tony Awards.

Currently, the actor also has been given an Emmy Award nod for his lead role on Huff.
