Biography

Nicholas Brendon, who portrays the sardonic "Xander" on Buffy the Vampire Slayer with sensitivity and humor, turned to acting when his aspirations of playing pro baseball were squelched by a serious arm injury.

Nicholas first appeared on television in a handful of commercials and series guest spots. Feeling slightly disenchanted with Hollywood, he took a personal hiatus to play the "real life" roles of medical student, production assistant, plumber's assistant, veterinary janitor, food delivery guy, script delivery guy, day care counselor and waiter (at approximately 13 different establishments). Nicholas was fired from all but one of the aforementioned positions.

During his seventh year in the F&B (Food and Beverage service for the layman), he decided to give acting another go; thankfully for his TV fans (and restaurant managers), after two months of auditioning, he landed the role of Xander in the now hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and hung up his apron for good. . . he hopes.

Off screen, the LA native enjoys quality time with his loved ones, Dodger games, a good book, a nice Chianti, the idea of learning to surf and play the piano, rollerblading, writing poetry and daydreaming of world travel and philanthropy while watching
