Biography

Like his older brother William Baldwin, actor Stephen Baldwin attended the State University of New York at Binghamton and briefly modeled for Calvin Klein. While working in a New York City pizza parlor, Stephen was spotted by an agent, making his TV bow shortly afterward in the 1987 PBS American Playhouse presentation The Prodigious Hickey, in which he played an inveterate turn-of-the-century practical joker. One year later he was seen in his first film, Homeboy. From 1989 through 1992, he costarred as a pre-Buffalo Bill William Cody in the weekly TV series The Young Riders. In addition to William Baldwin, Stephen Baldwin has two other acting brothers, Alec and Daniel -- the result, according to quipster Jay Leno, of a lab cloning experiment. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
