Biography

Wilmer Valderrama moved with his family to Los Angeles from Venezuela in 1994. Although when he arrived in the USA he could barely speak English, by 1998 Valderrama was acting professionally. That year, he made his TV debut on The Disney Channel series "Omba Makomba" and then became a regular on the Fox sitcom "That '70s Show" (1998- ). While still attending high school, Valderrama got a lot of laughs on the retro comedy as Fez, a foreign student trying to acclimate to suburban American society while struggling with the language and customs, a role not unlike his own life just a few years before. In 2001, Valderrama made his big screen debut as a virginal baseball player in the comedy "Summer Catch".
