Biography

She was born Allison Joy Langer on May 22 1974 in Columbus Ohio. Allison is the second child of Gary and Deana Langer. The familiy moved to Los Angeles when she was only 5. Allison first became involved in acting when she was noticed in 9th grade by an algebra teacher who's daughter was a show business manager. In 1991 she appeared in a number of television series inclding 'Baywatch' , 'Parker lewis can't lose' and 'Drexell's Class'. Her big break came While appearing on 'Drexell's Class' during this year she recieved her first feature film role, which was a small part in "Wes Craven's The People Under the Stairs". In 1993, she, appeared in the computer game "Return to Zork", but it was in 1994, taking the role of Rayanne Graff in the award-winning "My So-Called Life" that she gained public prominence.

In 1996, she appeared in "Seinfeld" and then gained the role of Utopia, in John Carpenter's "Escape from L.A.". After Walt Disney's "Meet the Deedles", she was drafted into another TV series, in the form of Peter Mehlman's "It's Like, You Know...". Playing the role of Lauren Woods, she gave the show spark and played the character brilliantly, even outshining Jennifer Grey (from Dirty Dancing). Luckily in 2001, NBC gave her a starring role in the sitcom "Three Sisters".

in 1995 langer was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a syndrome that affects the soft tissue of the body. Langer found that the medication the doctors prescribed didn't really help, and so went to Costa Rica for 6 weeks to meditate and to surf.

Langer still lives in the San Fernando Valley, California. Her hobbies include surfing, hiking, camping and fishing. This athletic ability probably led to mastering the trapeze for "Circus of the Stars Goes to Disneyland". She is also especially artistic, creating necklaces and picture frames for gifts.
