Biography

A native of Montreal, Heitmeyer's film and television career was launched after she was cast in the 1992-96 national advertising campaign for Cadbury's "Crispy Crunch." During the 1994-95 television season, she played Officer Jessie Jaworski in the Emmy-nominated Sirens and co-starred in the action series NightMan. She has also guest-starred on such hit series as The Outer Limits, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, FX: The Series, The Hunger, Student Bodies and Total Recall 2070. In the fall of 2001 after co-starring in the third and fourth seasons of Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict with Robert Leeshock, she returned for the fifth and final season to star as Renée Palmer, a seasoned Resistance fighter who, almost single-handedly, must race to save Earth from a new and more formidable alien threat called the Atavus.

Heitmeyer was also featured in the A&E/Hallmark Hall of Fame production P.T. Barnum with Beau Bridges. She co-starred with Vincent Spano in True Romance for Lifetime and was featured in Alan Moyle's HBO sci-fi thriller Xchange.

Heitmeyer has appeared in several feature films, including Brian DePalma's Snake Eyes, starring Nicolas Cage and Gary Sinise, Beyond Redemption with Andrew McCarthy, Out of Control with Sean Young and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World with Patrick Bergin. She also appeared in 2000 and None with John Turturro, and in Denys Arcand's Stardom.

Heitmeyer has a diverse range of interests including horseback riding, learning to play the guitar and watching movies. She attended the International School of Geneva and McGill University in Montreal where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and completed the first half of an MBA degree. Heitmeyer has lived in Vancouver and in Toronto. Her birthday is celebrated in October
