Kelly Rutherford (born November 6, 1968 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky) is an American actress best know from her role of Megan Mancini on Melrose Place from 1996 to 1999. She was married to Carlos Tarajano from June 30, 2001 to January 11, 2002. Kelly Rutherford has been and still is a famous celebrity in Turkey. Her role in the short-lived, but highly acclaimed TV series Generations (1989-1991) made an impression in the cultural psyche of the Turkish people so much so that allusions to "Sam," her character, are commonly applied in daily life, and if you ask devout fans they'll readily attribute the success of the drama entirely to her presence.

She followed her fans by recording various commercials for the Turkish market, and even appeared in a nationally broadcast music festival. Rutherford's kindness has very much endeared her to the Turkish people. Shortly after her wedding her then 31-year-old husband had an unexpected cardiac arrest--he recovered. [Summer 2001] She left her husband Carlos a week before a InStyle Special on celebrity weddings that included footage of her wedding to Carlos. She also practices yoga together with Lisa Rinna and Marcia Cross.

In addition to her work on Generations and Melrose Place, Rutherford also starred in the early 1990s Homefront as Judy Owen, in 1995's The Great Defender as Frankie Collet, in 1996's Kindred: The Embraced as Caitlin Byrne, in 2003's Threat Matrix as Special Agent Frankie Ellroy Kilmer, and had a recurring role in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. as Dixie Cousins.

Currently, Rutherford is starring as Samantha "Sonny" Liston, on the TV series E-Ring.
