Biography

West Hollywood, CA--July 24, 2003--When the Board of ADB Swiss S.A. voted Kiera Chaplin as the Chairman of Limelight Films, Inc. at the age of twenty, it was far from an unlikely turn of events. As the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin, her vision was to bring back her grandfather’s legacy to the United States and develop new opportunities in the film arena.

Limelight Films and its affiliates cover a vast array of divisions including: financing, acquisition, distribution, marketing, and product placement. Limelight’s strong alliances have brought many opportunities to the company including film distribution, marketing and promotions for film festivals and music ventures.

Kiera was born in Belfast, Ireland and grew up in Switzerland. At age 16, she moved to Paris, where she began gracing the pages of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. She has worked with famous photographers from all over the world including the late Herb Ritts. Her celebrity status has brought many unique opportunities to her career including a successful acting, music, and film career.

Other accomplishments include:

• ∑Voted as the 7TH MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD out of 100 celebrities
• ∑Launching a hit single, “FEELING YOU” featured as part of the nationally distributed dance compilation, “FASHION LOUNGE.”
• ∑Featured in “The Importance of Being Earnest” and “Oliver Parker,” in addition to securing a starring role as Jennifer Treman in “The Year that Trembled.”
• ∑Currently filming the “Amy McPherson Story,” starring as “Myrtle,” directed by Richard Rossi

In 2002, Kiera pledged her active involvement in the DVD Collectors’ Edition of A TRIBUTE to Charlie Chaplin when she narrated the DVD. Her efforts are proof of her desire to honor her family heritage by furthering the Chaplin name. Today as Chairman of Limelight Films, Inc., she continues to act as a leading advocate for the preservation of film history and is petitioning the Los Angeles City Government for the recognition of her grandfather’s contributions to Hollywood. She hopes in the future his memory will be immortalized with the dedication of a major arterial roadway in his name. She was recently the recipient of the International Short Film Festival Award on behalf of Charlie Chaplin.
