Biography

Born Margaret LeAnn Rimes, in Jackson, Mississippi on August 28th 1982, LeAnn has shown from an early age that she possessed a talent for performing, and is said to have been singing from the age of two years.

Aged five, LeAnn won her first song and dance competition, singing "Getting to know you", and reportedly said even at that early age that show business was the direction she wanted to go in.
At six years old LeAnns parents, Wilbur and Belinda Rimes Moved the familly to Texas, so that LeAnn could pursue her dream of becoming a performer, and sure enough, by the age of seven, LeAnn made her stage debut in a Dallas musical production of "A Christmas carol", where she played the lead part of Tiny Tim.

At eight LeAnn was a two week champion on the tellyvision show "Star Search" and also enjoyed regular apperances on the "Johnnie Highs Country Music Review".
At aged eleven, LeAnn recorded and released her first album "All That", (Wich is the only album I don't have in my collection at the moment, but I'll keep looking) produced by her father Wilbur C Rimes, and was released on the Nor Va Jak independent label, although only sold throughout Dallas, LeAnns version of "blue" which was featured on the album, created enough interest for "Curb Records" to sign her, and shortly after released the album "blue".

From that point on, LeAnns success has just grown, with every new corner LeAnn turns, a new allyway appears, and with resent successes such as her camio in "Coyote Ugly" a duet with Elton John, and her pairing up with song writter Diane Warren, there appears to be no stopping this remarkably talented and beautiful young lady, I only hope that one day I will get to see her perform live.

As for what the future holds for LeAnn, only time will tell, but if the performances so far are anything to go by, then her future success isn't measured in how far LeAnn can go, But how far LeAnn wants to go, talent isn't a problem, and with that much talent, the future is all hers.

Oh and before I finish I must add that not only is LeAnn a very talented Singer, her writting ability is also brilliant, not that there are a lot of songs written by LeAnn on her albums at the moment, but if "More than anyone desreves" ( on "Sitting on top of the world" ) and "Together, Forever, Always" ( on "I Need you" ) are anything to go by, then a complete album written by LeAnn is sure to be a must for any collection, This will be the first thing on my christmas list when it arrives ( if it arrives ) I surely hope so.
