Rachel Emily Nichols was born on January 8, 1980, in Augusta, Maine. As a kid growing up in Maine, she enjoyed trekking through the outdoors and being on the water, windsurfing or sailing. At 5'10" and in her 20s, Rachel has thus far managed to pack in a lot of living. While modeling has been a mainstay of hers, she has also proven that she's got brains as well as beauty. Rachel headed to New York's Columbia University, where she studied economics and psychology, and threw in some drama classes to increase her acting abilities. During her university years, she had the difficult task of balancing her education with her burgeoning modeling career, often flying between the United States and Europe to do photo shoots.
