Biography

Born Miriam Soto on the 27 of March 1967, in Brooklyn, New York though raised in Northampton MA. Talisa has always been considered a beauty, to the point that she began a modeling career at 15. By the time she was ready to make the switch from modeling to acting she had appeared on the covers of Vogue, Mademoiselle, Glamour, Self, and, of course, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

In 1988, at the age of 19, she landed her first role as India, the Puerto Rican girlfriend in Spike of Bensonhurst. This lead to a huge leap in exposure as a Bond Girl in opposite Timothy Dalton in License to Kill.

After this a slew of work followed both on the big screen and on TV. TV movies like Silhouette and the HBO anthology, Prison Stories: Women Behind Bars showed that Talisa was actually expanding her acting talents and was more than just a pretty face...though that never hurts either. More work on the big screen came her way with The Mambo Kings and Hostage when another solid stepping stone in her career happened her way in 1995.

That year saw the release of Don Juan De Marco and Mortal Kombat. Don Juan De Marco performed poorly at the box-office but found its audience on video and became a sleeper hit while Mortal Kombat has since spawned two sequels (the third due out in 2003) which never hurts for an ongoing pay cheque.

More recently Talisa completed the filming of Piñero where she met current husband Benjamin Bratt (they were married April 13, 2002). This would be the second marriage for Talisa, her first was to Costas Mandylor (1997 - 2000).

As mentioned before she has Mortal Kombat 3 hitting the big screen in 2003 and Ecks Vs. Sever with Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu due out in the summer of 2002.
