Delta was born on the 9th November 1984 in Sydney, Australia to Lea and Denis Goodrem. She has a younger brother called Trent. She begin singing and writing at a young age and made some guest appearances in various adverts and Ausralian TV shows called Hey Dad, A Country Practise and Police Rescue. She signed by the Sony label when shewas only 15 years old.
After playing a wannabe singer on the soap Neighbours she made her debut album Innocent Eyes. Delta was an overnight success .
She had great success on the Australian pop charts. Where she had five consecutive number 1 singles, all from her debut album. Delta has won many Australian music Awards. However, it was appearing on Neighbours that was her breakthrough internationally. She has been a consistent top 10 hitter in the UK charts, and even gained a few top fives.
Her first single "I Dont Care" reached No. 64 on the Australian music charts, way back in 2001. In 2003 Delta was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphonia. In 2004 she released her second album Mistaken Identity. She also started work on a new Australian adaptation of the famous Australian novel Hating Alison Ashley, where she plays the leading lady.
